Orléans resident, community activist and blind-deaf Canadian speed skater, Kevin Frost is at is again, this time securing second place in the World Indoor Rowing Championships, in Boston this past weekend.

Earlier this month, he also had a strong finish in a long track speed skating tournament in Lake Placid, New York.

“It is a little hard to switch from one sport one weekend, to another sport another weekend but I like a challenge,” said Frost, who trains daily and is always setting new goals.

“I’ve gotten three silvers, so next year I have to get number one,” he laughs. “No excuse for that!”

My words of the month are “Free your mind from any stress, from hate”. Always look on the bright side.

Hi everyone,

I had two great rowing events and the main focus was getting more racing experience. Still training 5 days a week on the water. My next race will be in Sept and Oct. rowing - Welland

These races are called Head Races, 6 km in distance. An interesting event in Speed Skating has made its debut in Russia. I haven’t heard of any other country who is doing this. This is the first National Paralympic speed skating competition and will be taking place in this coming season.

I had a wonderful time with my children in Toronto at Wonderland, the CN Tower and the Zoo.

A story about me was published in a Wellness book about positive energy on how it works all the time in every way. Thought this was pretty cool.

Update on the Mexican boy( Alfredo). He has improved his vocabulary since he received his new hearing aids. In the last six months his vocabulary has gone from a 1 year old to that of a 8-yr-old.
